Twitch releasing TikTok-style mobile app feed this month

Twitch announced that it will start rolling out its TikTok-styled discovery feed for its mobile app this month.

Twitch demonstrated the new feature in a Patch Notes stream on Wednesday evening, during which hosts ran viewers through the benefits of the short-form styled content.

The new feature, separated into clips and current live streams, is very similar to the live-stream section of the TikTok app.

The live section of the discovery feed allows you to scroll through previews of live streams from creators you follow and channels Twitch’s algorithm thinks you might enjoy.

You can then enter theatre mode if you want to interact with the stream.

Users will also have access to the clips stream that contains shortform content taken from streams.

If a creator is live, this will be indicated on their “clips” posts, allowing you to access the live stream.

As far as ads go, they will not appear within the content but natively pop up as you scroll between posts.

This will allow users to scroll past and avoid them if they are uninterested.

Users will be able to access this feature by the end of the month, Twitch said.
