The Federation is horrified by the brutal killing of Moeletsi Sedi, a young worker who was reported to have been brutally killed by pit bulls owned by his employer at his workplace, Eagle Roofs in Rustenburg on the 6th of April. The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has met with Mr. Sedi’s family to offer our support during this tragic period.

We demand urgent action by the South African Police Service (SAPS). The owner of these pit bulls needs to be held accountable for this tragic death and charged with criminal negligence and culpable homicide. The family and dependents of Mr. Sedi must be compensated for this painful loss.

Action needs to be taken with regards to pit bulls. All too often the nation has been traumatised by the horrific mauling and killing of workers and children and the elderly by pit bulls. This breed is genetically bred and predisposed to being highly aggressive. Owners must be held accountable. We need to make the long overdue decision to ban the breeding of this breed, spade existing pit bulls and prohibit future ownership sales and ownership.

Wasn't this the one where they had footage of the worker hitting the dogs with a hosepipe? Or is this a different incident.

If its the one I'm thinking of, no sympathy from me. If you want to fukaround and findout around pitbulls, make sure your life insurance is up to date

Agree. It is the same as owning a pet Lion and then one day you come back from work and find your gardener is dead on the lawn. Society protects the lion and claims this would never have happened had the Lion been left alone in the wild. And I agree 100% this is right. Coz there is no chance my gardener would ever be raking leaves in the middle of the Kruger National Park.

roundabout way of saying it, but when you breed a dog to be vicious, even if you treat it well, that genetic memory is still there,
eventually it will snack on your arm.

Exactly. A pet Lion is no different. Great cuddly bed pet to have but very dangerous when something gets triggered

You saying the lion is woke?
