Temu hits back against slavery and data abuse accusations

Chinese e-commerce giant Temu has hit back at allegations that some of its products could be made with forced labour and that it is reckless or malicious with its users' personal data.

The online store has taken South Africa by storm in the past few months, often topping the rankings on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
 
It's still glorified chinese ewaste unless you sort by amount and pay even more than what you'll pay here.
 
Placed my 3rd order recently, first two orders the quality of the items was great so not sure what people are ordering were the quality isnt great, I have not ordered clothes/shoes so maybe they suck.

Might be true for some items, but there are thousands of items that are not **** quality that you can get for super cheap. I have bought various cycling items from there as an example, that you won't get for anywhere NEAR their pricing and the quality is more than good enough for its purpose.
 
Going back to my order ,the stuff was junk ,also purchased a box of shrink sleeving ,the insulation resistance after sleeving 2 wires to a pump was under 0.5 meg ohm ,ok for automotive use but certainly not for mains .wont bother again .for gadgets and odds ,i suppose its ok .

Same for me... 3 orders so far, quality of items was perfectly acceptable, especially for the price paid.

Yes there is a chunk of chinese eWaste on the site, but there is also a chunk of decent stuff for the price.

The focus was also poor and the quality of the macro shots were worse than the closeups with my phone settings alone. The light feature works but again, no better than my flash.

I've been using it for two weeks already, and I'm happy with it, I even posted this pic in the photography section.

Not to mention that the bad reviews are pretty much in the minority, using your own link based on 25 reviews, but you missed that part and focused solely on one review, and even then this is what the reviewer had to say about it

The whole set, especially the lens, feels of high quality.

Nothing to see here , I have been under forced labour all my life, add tax to that its full blown slavery.
