The Interactive Advertising Bureau South Africa’s (IAB SA’s) latest readership statistics reveal that Media24, Broad Media, and Arena Holdings are the largest online publishers in the country.
The IAB SA is an independent, voluntary, non-profit association that focuses on creating a vibrant and profitable digital industry in South Africa.
The organisation represents over 200 members, including online publishers and media and digital agencies.
As part of its mandate, the IAB SA provides audited readership statistics for South Africa’s largest online publishers.
Through its partnership with dY/dX, The IAB SA provides an industry-wide view of audiences presented by online publishers in South Africa.
The March 2024 data showed that Media24 is the largest online publisher in South Africa, with an average of 964,000 daily readers.
Media24 owns some of South Africa’s most popular online publications, including News24, Netwerk24, and SNL24.
Broad Media is South Africa’s second-largest digital publisher, with an average of 513,000 readers per day.
Broad Media owns four niche publications in the business, technology, and motoring space — BusinessTech, MyBroadband, Daily Investor, and TopAuto.
Arena Holdings is the third-largest digital publisher in South Africa, with an average of 405,000 active daily readers.
Arena Holdings owns a few of the country’s most respected publications, including TimesLive, Sunday Times, and Business Day.
