Most expensive items on Takealot — including various custom-built gaming PCs

The most expensive products you can buy on Takealot are Huawei’s IdeaHub S2 Intelligent Collaboration display, Samsung’s S95C-series 77-inch “PC Gaming” smart TV, and LG’s 77-inch G1 Evo Gallery Design TV, all priced at R99,999.

MyBroadband searched the online retail giant’s website for its most expensive products. The top fifteen most costly items range from R95,000 to R99,999.

In lists we previously compiled of the most expensive items on Takealot, we often saw items with price tags of up to R450,000. However, Takealot appears to have set R100,000 as the upper limit.

Among the top fifteen most expensive products as of Thursday, 4 April 2024, are various TVs and smart displays, high-quality Persian carpets, backup power systems, coffee machines, and custom-built gaming PCs.

For R99,999, Takealot shoppers can get the Huawei IdeaHub S2 Intelligent Collaboration Device, a 77-inch 144Hz 4K Samsung “PC Gaming” smart TV, or LG’s 77-inch G1 Evo Gallery Design TV.

The Huawei IdeaHub S2 features a 4K resolution and a 4K resolution camera for video conferencing.

Wealthy Persian rug collectors may be interested in the 600 x 500cm Top Quality Khamyab Carpet for R99,995, an original hand-knotted Persian Art Deco Tabriz Rug for R98,000, or a very fine hand-knotted Persian Bidjar Carpet for R95,000.

Several “CustomBeast” branded gaming PCs are listed on Takealot, with the most expensive custom builds ranging from R97,500 to R99,365.

At the higher end of the scale sits the CustomBeast MSI Performance Gaming PC. However, it seems considerably overpriced for its specs.

It packs an Intel Core i9-13900KF CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, and 1TB of SSD storage. However, it only has 16GB of DDR4 RAM.

The cheaper CustomBeast Asus Performance Gaming PC packs an Intel Core i9-13900KF CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, 1TB of SSD storage, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM for R97,500.

This, too, seems expensive, with a quick search of retailers’ websites revealing better-specced custom-built PCs for less than R70,000.

Lastly, CustomBeast also lists a custom-built desktop workstation PC for R95,285.

The PC packs an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor, Nvidia RTX A4500 GPU, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and 2TB of SSD storage.
